Do you think you have a patriot in your family tree who fought or provided service in the American Revolution, but are not sure how to prove it? 

A good place to start is by asking family if they know of a relative who was a DAR member. Joining might be as easy as proving your connection to a mother, aunt, or grandmother.

Next, check out the DAR Ancestor Search to see if your ancestor is already in our database. His or her service and even some of your lineage may have already been proven by previous applicants.
