Literacy Committee

The Sarah Ann Cochrane Chapter, NSDAR, literacy committee collects new and gently used books for preschool- and kindergarten-aged children. The preschool recipients are children who qualify because of low income, environmental risk, primary home language other than English, and other risk factors. The kindergarten recipients attend a school that qualifies for Federal funding because of the percentage of low income.

Sarah Ann Cochrane Chapter, NSDAR, members donate an average of 750 books a year for this literacy project.

The committee encourages and sponsors speakers with a special focus on literacy for Sarah Ann Cochrane Chapter, NSDAR, meetings.
